WPT巴塞罗那站:预期精彩纷呈

ImageIn less than six weeks, The World Poker Tour, powered by partypoker LIVE, will be heading to the glamorous city of Barcelona, Spain, for a two-week event featuring sunshine, beaches, poker, and maybe a few sangrias!

Oh, and did we mention that WPT Barcelona guarantees over €5.5 million in prize pools throughout the festival? If you haven’t finalized your travel plans yet, what are you waiting for?

If that’s not enough, and you want more information about what Barcelona has to offer, WPT has got you covered!

Barcelona, you beauty!

It’s safe to say that poker players are accustomed to the fast-paced lifestyle. Whether it’s making quick decisions at the table or rushing to the restroom before the big blind returns, Barcelona offers the opportunity to explore the city at your own pace.

Strolling around the city and basking in the sunlight is, frankly, the best way to do it. However, for time-constrained poker players, why not consider joining one of the city’s segway tours to quickly explore the sights? Alternatively, Barcelona’s hop-on-hop-off bus tours offer a similar experience.

For those fortunate — or should I say unfortunate in this case — enough to have a full day off from the WPT Barcelona schedule, taking an extended trip might be a great choice. Sports enthusiasts can hop on a short metro train ride to the Nou Camp, home to the football giant FC Barcelona. The stadium, which seats 99,000, is open for self-guided and guided tours and even features a VR experience.

If you’re hoping to catch the legendary Messi in action, you’ll need to act fast. The men’s first team has two home matches scheduled during the WPT Barcelona festival. Rayo Vallecano visits the Nou Camp on Sunday, March 10, and French giants Lyon face Messi and company on Wednesday, March 13 in the UEFA Champions League.

Aside from sports, Barcelona is steeped in history, culture, and architectural landmarks, from cathedrals to modern-day buildings. It’s an excellent way to unwind and broaden your horizons, and a top tip would be to visit the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia.

Dinner Break!

Barcelona, as you can imagine, offers a plethora of dining options, from high-end restaurants and family-friendly cafes to marketplaces and street food along the famous Las Ramblas.

For poker players, one key question is probably on your mind — where should I go for dinner during the break?

Thankfully, Casino Barcelona is just moments away from the Marina, bustling with dining choices. Several high-quality restaurants, featuring Italian, Mexican, American, and Spanish cuisines, are located just steps from the casino. Additionally, for those seeking grab-and-go options before heading back to the poker table, several fast food and deli-style cafes are available. Whether you’re looking to unwind on a balmy evening or in need of a quick bite, Barcelona has you covered.

Nighttime Vibes

Let’s face it, every poker player will have a tough day at the tables at some point — it comes with the territory. But once you’ve had the chance to recount your bad beat story to anyone who will listen, it’s time to move on — you’re in Barcelona!

Take a night off and let the warm Spanish air lead you to one of the vibrant watering holes the city has to offer.

Right outside Casino Barcelona, you’ll find an array of bars, meeting spots, and nightclubs. If you see a line of people waiting to get into a glass box, don’t worry — this is a unique feature of Barcelona’s club scene. Some of the liveliest nightclubs in the Marina area are located underground and provide an exhilarating experience as soon as you step inside. DJs and artists such as Axwell, Black Eyes Peas, Bruno Mars, David Guetta, Deadmaus, Don Diablo, Hardwell, Martin Garrix, Marshmello, and Steve Aoki are just a few of the acts that have graced the stage recently.

Another insider tip about Barcelona is the niche bars tucked away throughout the city. They may require a bit of research, but they’re worth it. These unique bars are often found in the narrow streets of the Gothic Quarters, each boasting a distinctive theme and decor, such as a tropical forest, fairyland, and carnival atmosphere.

One final piece of advice — keep an eye out for the street performers, renowned for their remarkable costumes and artwork for the public’s enjoyment. You might feel like you’ve stepped onto the set of a sci-fi movie but won’t be able to tear your eyes away.

Who knows? A night off may be just what you need to return and play your best game.

Relax and Unwind…

Whether you’re seeking a spot for a pre-poker meditation session or a place to decompress after a day of battles, a golden sand beach is an excellent choice!

Barcelona’s beaches, just meters away from the casino, offer not just sunbathing spots, but also water sports, volleyball, bars, lunch spots, and, overall, the perfect place to chill.

WPT Barcelona has so much to offer for poker players, we understand that it will be hard for you to tear yourself away from the poker action. However, we hope you’ll find the time to explore this beautiful city and enjoy the complete WPT experience in Spain. See you there!
